The illustrious journey of the Department of Economics began in 1951, reflecting the early recognition of the importance of Economics in higher education. Guided by a strong academic vision, the department has grown through the dedication, sincerity and commitment of its faculty towards academic excellence and student welfare. Recognized as an Approved Research Centre in 2005, the department offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
